Address: 665 Sir Galahad Dr, Lafayette, CO 80026
Bathroom: No bathroom available at the site. There are gas stations, fast food restaurants and a Starbucks on S Boulder Road if you need a rest stop.
Shade: A line of mature trees line the nature play area providing shade over some of this Lafayette park. When the sun is directly overhead and shade is lacking, there are two pavilions nearby if you need to take a break.
3 to 10 years old will enjoy this nature park. While there is a section with smaller boulders and stumps (shown above), the sharp edges and wetland features keep me from recommending any younger.
Nature playgrounds are popping up all over Colorado with each one unique. Our favorite features were the two-sided cabin and giant tree branches to climb. We also enjoyed the “organ pipes”, the mix of different height tree stumps.
The Lafayette Nature Kids Discovery Zone is on the grounds of Alicia Sanchez International School. By going during non-school hours, it was like we had four different playgrounds to visit!
