Congress Park in Denver Will Delight All Ages!
The “Elevate Denver” Bond has brought us another amazing playground upgrade, this time at Congress Park! Located next to the Congress Park Pool, just East of the Denver Botanic Gardens, the new playground at Congress Park is sure to delight all ages. It has a slight woodsy-theme with a giant acorn to climb, acorn top seats for tic tac toe, and log stumps of multiple heights. Your whole family will love the new equipment, and if you’re visiting during the summer, take along some swimsuits to enjoy the pool as well!

Address: 850 Josephine St, Denver, CO 80206
Bathroom: When we visited, there was a portable restroom in the parking lot.
Shade: Not much. There are beautiful trees around the park, however, little of the playground is provided shade. There is a large covering over picnic tables to cool down and enjoy a snack.
Surface: The playground is covered with engineered wood fiber (wood chips) and there is a large sand play area.
Age Recommendations: This is a great playground for the whole family! Your little ones will love the separate play area with tiny playhouses and low rope bridge. The older kids will have fun on the slide structure with all of its ways to climb to the top!
Inclusive Features: There are two chair-style swings, however, they are over wood chips.

Unique Features of Congress Park
Often with new playgrounds I’m seeing a step away from sand play, however, at Congress Park, there is a large sand area that even came with some shade! Two whimsical chairs and small table were installed in the middle and toys and trucks were left for anyone to play with. I liked that this area was separated from the play structures to allow younger kids a more peaceful, sensory spot to play.
The new equipment for the older kids was a lot of fun! The two geometrical shaped towers were connected by a bridge, with many climbing activities to make your way to the high slides. The lighter colored slides are always better when shade isn’t overhead!
There is also a large sphere-shaped spinner that many kids can play on simultaneously. You can hang from the sides, sit on the upper level, or jump on at the last minute.
How fun is this giant acorn?!
