Visit Saturn at this New Brighton Playground!

Over Thanksgiving break, we had a chance to check out this newly updated Brighton playground and it was a blast! Observatory Park has a large planet to play on and fun geometrically-shaped structures with tall slides and rope mazes. If you have a kiddo that loves space, climbing or scavenger hunts, add this playground to your list!

Observatory Park Logistics

Address: 795 S 22nd Ave, Brighton, CO 80601

Bathroom: No bathroom options available.

Shade: No shade is over the playground, however there are two small pavilions available.

Surface: This will change in 2022! The surface is currently wood chips, but once the weather is warmer in 2022, there will be space-themed rubber surfacing.

Age Recommendations: I’d recommend this park for ages 2 to 10. The older kids will like the tall slide but they may have a hard time playing on the Saturn feature because of their height and closeness to the play structure.

Swings: There are two traditional swings and one baby swing.

Water Features: None.

Unique Features of Observatory Park

With a name like Observatory Park, this Brighton playground had big shoes to fill! There will be more added to the theme once the rubber surfacing is put in, but in the meantime, the large Saturn was a hit. I watched so many kids try to climb up and slide down, it’s a bit slippery and they loved it!

Another feature making Observatory Park a new favorite in the area is the scavenger hunt! If you haven’t seen these before, there are small emblems attached to the play structures matching the shapes below. Can you find the green frog? My girls love turning this into a racing game as they fly around trying to find them in order.

Surrounding Area Highlights

There is a large field at Observatory Park for soccer games and I picture it being perfect for some kite flying! If you’re in this area during the summer, your kids would love to check out the amazing water park across the street.
