Dual Zipline for the Win in Thornton!
If you live anywhere near Thornton, or even if you don’t, you have got to check out Amber Creek Park! It was recommended to me by a friend that lives in that area and she wasn’t kidding when she said it was amazing!
Address: 6745 E 134th Ave, Thornton, CO 80602
Recommended Ages: All kids will enjoy this park! There is a more traditional play structure with slides, a disc swing, baby swings and spinners for the little ones. My older kids went straight for the dual zipline and rock climbing!
Unique Features: The side by side ziplines were definitely our favorite part. The girls raced each other, tried sitting and standing, and the whole experience brought so much laughter! Here are a few of our favorite zipline moments…
Another unique feature was this amazing curved rock wall! Typically, if there is a rock wall, it is usually just another ladder option or it is like climbing a giant boulder…this was so much better! There were even hand holds underneath for added difficulty.
Have you heard of an OmniSpinner? This is a seated merry-go-round that was made with transfer points for easy access with wheelchairs or walkers. Such an improvement over the traditional merry-go-round where kids fly off the sides! Or is that just what happens with my kids…?
Things to Know: There is a portable bathroom, large shaded shelter and basketball court. We were there for over an hour and, if I had packed more snacks, we would’ve stayed even longer! It is a playground they’ll be entertained by and scenery that you’ll want to soak up. Truly a great Colorado playground!
We can’t wait to hear that you’ve visited this park! Which would be your favorite – the ziplines or rock wall?

This is a great park. Just enough features to keep the kids (6, 8 and 10) interested. Ziplines are a huge plus. There is sidewalk that makes a large circle around the park, so it’s great for bikes, scooters, hoverboards and still being able to keep an eye on all kiddos.
