The “zipline racing park” is what my kids call Amber Creek Park because of its side-by-side ziplines. Not only that, there is an awesome curved climber, steep slide and incredible mountain views! This will be an instant favorite, but remember to go early before it gets too hot with its lack of shade. 😉

Carpenter Park is one of the best parks in Thornton because it has some of everything! To start, the playground is large, inclusive, with rubber surfacing and easily accessible features. Next on the list is the splash pad! It is a favorite for locals so get there early to claim your shaded seat nearby. Finally, there is a carousel that runs on weekends (click here for hours of operation).

Cherry Park is the hidden gem of this list. I have never seen the playground too busy and the play structure provides many different types of fun! The rolling bar slide is a favorite and the many levels led to quite the game of tag – a perfect stop when you need to get the kids outside.

The play equipment at Riverwalk Park is in great shape, has unique elements and even has an animal tracks-themed scavenger hunt! The tallest (steep!) slides provide a challenge to climb and there are obstacles and a surfboard-like bouncer. You will find accessible chair swings instead of the traditional baby swings and an “alien home” for imaginative fun.
Tip: Take along your baseball gear to enjoy the Riverwalk Batting Cages when you visit this playground!

What else can I say except…look at that slide!! The playground at Denver Premium Outlets is one of the best parks in Thornton hands down, however it can also be the most crowded. My advice is to go early and, if your kids have never gone that high before, be prepared to climb right up there with them. There are some amazing climbing structures, hillside obstacles and activities across the play area so this will not be a quick stop, this is a destination 😉 .
