#6 Bell Roth Park

Address: Milky Way, Thornton, CO 80260

During the summer months, I love recommending Bell Roth Park. Why, you may ask? Because…Bell Roth Park is right across the street from Water World! You can almost feel like you’re there as you can hear the water splashing and happy screams from the water park rides.

The playground has a water theme with a “Sounds of Water” panel, wavy slides, rocks to climb, and blue/green colors throughout. Depending on the time of day, it can also have some shade from the surrounding trees!

Look at the shade!

#5 Sherrelwood Park

Address: Orchard Dr & N Pecos St, Denver, CO 80221

Sherrelwood Park is a wonderful spot to bring the family and your furry friends! The play area is small (all shown in image below), however, there is a long walking path surrounding a grass field. Your kiddos can enjoy the climbing and sliding while your pups get some exercise!

Such a fun use of a small hillside!

#4 Waddell Park

Address: 2940 Cottonwood Dr, Denver, CO 80221

One of the newest play structures in the area, Waddell Park has great elements packed into a small space. It has traditional slides, however, it also has a variety of climbing opportunities and sensory panels. With its large pavilion and nearby baseball fields, it is a fun place to take the family for picnic and throwing the ball around.

I loved the music panels!

#3 Westfield Village Park

Address: 11550 Wolff St, Westminster, CO 80031

I have loved Westfield Village Park since my kids were little! There are two separate play areas based on age so the younger kids have the spot shown in the first image below with a smaller play structure and crawlable tunnel. The older kids have climbing rocks, larger play structure, standing seesaw and more. It is also a beautiful spot with surrounding trees, muted blue/green colors and rubber play surface.

#2 Big Dry Creek Park

Address: 1700 W 128th Ave, Westminster, CO 80234

The play area at Big Dry Creek Park is huge! There is the large play structure shown below that is in a square shape with two-story-high bridge going all the way around. It has many different types of climbing and balancing opportunities on the lower level.

There is also a play structure for ages 2 to 5 and it is one of the reasons I especially love Big Dry Creek Park! My girls loved monkey bars from very young ages and I’d get so frustrated by the playgrounds with monkey bars so high that I could barely lift them up to. This playground is different with bars and rings low enough for young ones to try out and not drop from huge heights!

**There is a large dog park near the parking lot entrance so feel free to make it a whole family day with your furry friends included!

There’s a large dog park here too!

…and the #1 Park in Hyland Hills…Clear Creek Valley Park!

Address: 3700 W 58th Pl, Arvada, CO 80002

If you’ve been following our playground adventures for a while, you have heard me go on and on about how great Clear Creek Valley Park is! I have loved it since the day it was built and it keeps getting better!

The playground at Clear Creek Valley Park is divided into a few sections. There is a garden-themed play area for younger ages complete with a chicken coop slide structure, celery slide, watering can playhouse and more. The older kid section has the awesome clubhouse-style structure shown below with rope bridge and high secret hideout. In between, there is a water feature creek to direct, tires to climb and a sandpit.

In addition to the amazing playground, there is an amphitheater for concerts sponsored by Hyland Hills through the summer. There are also pickleball courts, sand volleyball courts, community gardens and a fitness equipment zone!
