Brand New Playground at Denver’s James A. Bible Park!

Saturday, November 20th marked the Grand Re-opening of Denver’s Bible Park and its new playground! To say every kid there was excited would be quite the understatement. The large net structure, tall towers and so many other fun activities had everyone running from one thing to the next. As one of Denver’s Regional parks, I’m sure this will be a highly visited playground.

And a tip, make sure to scroll to the bottom of this article to see why you should pack up their scooters for your next visit! I had a sad kid that she couldn’t enjoy the extra addition to the playground. 😉

Bathroom: Yes, there is a bathroom building (closed during the winter season) and also portables available.

Shade: No. There are some large trees nearby and a new pavilion available to take a break from the sunshine.

Surface: Majority of the space is wood chips, but to my daughter’s delight, there was a large hill of artificial turf right in the middle of the play area! There is also a small area of rubber surfacing for accessing the inclusive merry go round.

Age Recommendations: This is a regional park with brand new equipment so I foresee it being a busy place for a while. Children ages 2 to 5 will like the side of the playground with the bouncers, blocks and merry go round. Older kids will love the “Crab Trap” rope climbing structure and the tall slide towers.

Swings: There are 2 traditional swings, 2 baby swings and 2 chair swings.

Water Features: None.

Unique Features of Bible Park

If your kids are anything like mine, they will see the large towers and take off running toward them! Climbing up on one side is like a spiraled ramp and on the other side, they climb onto angled mats. There is a very high bridge that the kids can crawl through to get from one tower to the other.

Near the top of this article, you’ll see a picture of the very large “Crab Trap” rope structure. This is where my daughter’s spent the most time during our visit. Some other exciting features of Bible Park included an inclusive merry go round, turf-covered hill and an obstacle course!

Surrounding Area Highlights

This scooter park might be my favorite feature near Bible Park’s playground! With so many skate parks and bike pump tracks around, this is actually built for the younger kids with their scooters and small bikes.

Bible Park is also home to a basketball court, baseball/softball fields, tennis courts and is a great place to enjoy the outdoors as a family.
