Have you been to the Imagination Playground?
We love our outdoor playground adventures, but every once in a while the Colorado weather is too cold (or too hot!) and we need some other options. When investigating local recreation centers, we came across something called the “Imagination Playground” and had to check it out!

Address: West View Recreation Center 10747 W 108th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80021
Age Recommendations: According to the website, the ages allowed are 3 to 10. Those closer to 3 will have fun moving the blocks around, those closer to 10 could build masterpieces! This is the place to take your Lego loving child for sure!
What to Expect: The Imagination Playground is all about letting children imagine and build! They are provided three bins full of giant blue blocks and given the freedom of an empty racquetball court. It is like jumping into a bin of huge tinker toys!
We were given a book of ideas like the photo below, however it was more fun to build quick towers and knock them over for our preschool group.
My recommendation would be to invite a few friends to join you! If we hadn’t, we would have been the only ones there and it was definitely more fun to build as a team. With the cost of just $2 per child, it will be a fun place to keep on our list for future playdates!
NOTE: The Imagination Playground is not open every day so make sure to check their website prior to making the trip.
Surrounding Area Highlights: Just blocks away, you will find TWO of our favorite parks! Make sure you plan a few extra minutes to check out the lighthouse slide at Countryside Park and dragonfly seesaw at Jessica Ridgeway Memorial Park. They are worth the stop!
Do you have a favorite place to go when it is too cold outside (or too hot)? Let us know! Add a comment below and we’ll add it to our list.
Thanks for visiting!
