Play in the Colorado Rockies Without Driving through any Mountains?

In northern Commerce City, you’ll find this Rocky Mountain inspired playground called Villages East Park. With the logs and rocks to climb through and “Kidz only” forts, children will love the outdoorsy feel that this park offers!

Address: 11698 Chambers Road, Commerce City, CO 80022

Bathroom: There is actually a very nice bathroom building with running water and flushing toilet, as well as a drinking fountain!

Shade: A large pavilion is available with 6 picnic tables and 2 grills. Unfortunately shade on the playground is lacking so the dark colored equipment, even the rock walls, are hot to the touch on sunny days.

Age Recommendations: I would recommend this playground for up to age 8. Although my oldest (age 11) enjoys features like the rock climbing and rope bridge, the equipment is more geared toward the younger ages. The little ones will enjoy the baby or chair swings, smaller play structure, and the creatures hiding throughout the playground. Can you spot the squirrel?

Unique Features: We love that it really feels like we are in the Rocky Mountains with the rocks to climb, caves to explore and forts to claim!

Surrounding Area Highlights: Near the park, you will find a baseball field, circular basketball court and walking path. The field is huge so remember to take along a soccer or football and enjoy the open space!

Overall, we recommend Villages East Park on cloudy days or during the off season. That Colorado sun just makes the equipment way too hot mid-summer! If you’re in the area, make sure you check out Turnberry Park too – the brightly colored playground will bring joy to all!
