Ok, so the Saint Bernard at Lakecrest Park is small, but it’s too cute not to mention! We love elements that make a playground unique and easily identifiable by the kids. Can’t you hear them now?…”I want to go to the park with the dog!”. The playground also includes adorable playhouse features, rope climbers, swings and a scavenger hunt!
The updated playground at Lakecrest Park is part of the Town of Arvada’s TLC “Taking Lasting Care” program. Stay tuned as this will lead to more updated parks across Arvada in 2023!

Address: 8137 Kline St, Arvada, CO 80005
Bathroom: None available.
Shade: Yes, from the surrounding trees. As you can see from the photo below, there are large, established trees nearby so during the summer, they will provide some shade at Lakecrest Park.
Surface: Wood chips.
Age Recommendations: The playground at Lakecrest Park has equipment for ages 2 to 5 and also 5 to 12. I would say that the best ages for this park are 2 to 8 based on the level of skill needed for the play elements.
**NOTE: There is a creek that runs right along Lakecrest Park and would be easy for a wandering child to get too close. Keep an eye on your littles and make sure to share the boundaries of the play area with them.
Inclusive Features: There are playhouse pieces for younger ages that provide more options for play for those in wheelchairs. In addition, there are sensory panels as well as a scavenger hunt in which kids of all abilities can participate. The larger area of the playground, however, does not include ramps or accessible features.
Swings: There are 2 traditional belt swings and 1 baby swing.
Water Features: None.
My middle daughter’s favorite part of the playground were the climbers. There is a rope pyramid in the middle of the play area with connecting rope bridges out to small slides.
Looking for another great playground full of climbers that includes a scavenger hunt?! Check out Lake Arbor Park just minutes away in Arvada!
Other unique aspects of Lakecrest Park include the multiple playhouse structures and scavenger hunt. It will fill like your child can play a game of “town” instead of just playing house! They are whimsical in shape and include many cute details as shown below.
Did I mention the scavenger hunt?! We love when playgrounds have the extra feature! Challenge your kids to find each of the items shown (brown monkey, green turtle, grey elephant) and then make it harder by having them run to the ones you call out!
There is a large grass field near the playground where a family was playing with styrofoam airplanes when we were there. As mentioned above, there is also a creek that runs along Lakecrest Park so be aware for your wandering little ones.
