This park in Fort Collins is wonderful for so many reasons, I can’t wait for you to check it out! With it’s literacy theme, Library Park is sure to become a favorite among any young reader. As you’ll see below, there are actual books to climb, things to learn, a vowel scavenger hunt and so many ways to play with friends!

Bathroom: No restroom at the park, however, you could walk to the Old Town Library if needed.

Shade: Yes! There are large trees that provide shade around the playground (especially over the swings).

Age Recommendations: Ages 2 to 10 will love Library Park in Fort Collins. There is a high slide (and we watched a teenage boy treat the place like parkour) if you have older kids with you 😉 .

Inclusive Features: This is a wonderful inclusive playground for the area! The rubber surfacing makes it easy to get around, there is a wheelchair accessible merry go round, and a ramp to enter the play structure. As you’ll see below, there are also many unique sensory features for kids of all ages and abilities to enjoy.

Swings: There are 2 baby swings and 2 chair swings (no traditional belt swings).

Unique Features of Library Park

The playground at Library Park in Fort Collins is a book lovers dream! Actual books you can climb on or hide in, book shelf stairs, and even animals floating on book “boats” on the inclusive merry go round. It could not be more perfect in its library-adjacent location.

More literacy-themed elements are spread throughout the playground. You can learn Braille from one panel (numbers on one side, letters on the other), sign language and there’s even a scavenger hunt for vowels hidden throughout the play structure!

A cute addition, not themed, is this obstacle structure for ages 2 to 5.
