Joyful New Playground at Loomiller Park in Longmont!

Have you heard that Longmont, Colorado has a new playground at Loomiller Park?! This 15-acre park was named after Fred Loomiller (1863-1950), and his wife Grace (1883-1965), following part of the park’s land being donated to the City by the Loomiller’s children in 1962. Located just north of Longmont High School, this new playground will be an instant favorite for kids and parents alike. Although there is a lack of shade, there was a lot of thought put into the play elements chosen and they all will enjoy the natural theme.

Loomiller Park Logistics

Address: 1700 11th Ave, Longmont, CO 80501

Bathroom: There was an empty spot for a portable restroom near the playground. If you see one added, please add a comment or send a note!

Shade: No shade over the play equipment. There is a small pavilion and many large trees that can provide shade for picnics and water breaks.

Surface: Combination of mainly rubber surface with some wood chip areas and sand box.

Age Recommendations: There is equipment for ages 2 to 12, separated into areas for 2 to 5 and 5 to 12. The younger ages will love that the play structure also has a race car track and the older kids will enjoy the climbing!

Inclusive Features: There are many sensory elements on the younger play structure, including a shape moving table. You will also find an accessible chair swing over rubber surfacing, rolling hills and sand play area.

Swings: Loomiller Park now has 1 chair swing, 1 baby swing, 2 traditional belt swings, and 1 disc-shaped swing.

Water Features: None. There is a beautiful pond near the playground that you can walk around though.

Unique Features of Loomiller Park

Your little ones will LOVE the toddler play structure! It has moveable shapes, climbing slope, slide, tunnel and, best of all, a Hot Wheels car track! That’s right, bring along a few cars and trucks and watch them race around the play structure.

The older kids will love this unique climbing structure. Whether they climb on the ropes along the outside or through the rubber mats inside, they will feel challenged and have fun doing it.

Surrounding Area Highlights
