Jungle Updates Delight at this Arvada Park

The Town of Arvada has really impressed us with their commitment to updating older playground equipment. Just this month, as part of the “Taking Lasting Care” (TLC) program, the Rainbow East park was completely redone to provide a safer, more imaginative playground.

Address: 8181 Yarrow Street, Arvada CO 80005
**Note that Rainbow East Park is also called Rainbow III Park or Rainbow Three Park depending on which map you use. It is just northwest of 80th & Wadsworth.

Bathroom: Unfortunately, no bathroom at this park, however there is a King Soopers just a couple blocks away if the need arises 😉

Shade: Although we went on a cooler fall day, we noticed immediately how nicely the trees shaded the park and surrounding areas. This will be a great park to take a picnic!

Age Recommendations: With kids spanning 7 years apart, I love when parks have features that are safe for young kids and also have more thrilling aspects for the older kids. Signs posted at this Arvada park show equipment for 2 to 5 year olds and also for 5 to 12 year olds but in my opinion, most kids will enjoy exploring the entire playground.

Unique Features: The jungle theme brought joy to us all, especially with the animals featured! My girls climbed through a gorilla tunnel, hung out with a resting jungle cat and squealed down the elephant trunk slide.

There were so many great elements to this playground! With the variety of slides and swings (2 baby, 2 regular and 1 disc), your child will love running from one side to the other. They’ll climb rock walls and up leaf steps, maneuver through curved ladders and vines, and spin around the monkey bars.

I found the seating around the park interesting with only 2 benches, 1 picnic table and this unique hangout area (pictured below). There are a lot of great places to place a blanket under a tree though so make sure to bring one along for busy weekend playtimes.

Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Rainbow East Park in Arvada, Colorado! The bright colors and jungle theme had us excited from the start and the variety of equipment kept us busy and smiling.

Arvada has some incredible parks so don’t stop at just one! Here is a list of the best playgrounds we’ve reviewed nearby and if you’re needing any suggestions, leave us a comment below. Thanks for visiting!
