This article is sponsored by Shredder Ski and Board School, Frederick and Lafayette locations. Shredder is the perfect place where kids of all ages can develop their ski and snowboard skills in a comfortable, social, and safe environment all year round.

Check out These Shredder Locations!

Shredder Ski and Board School Frederick: 3540 State Hwy 52 Suite C, Erie, CO 80516 The location name is deceiving as it isn’t near most of Frederick. It is of the edge of Erie and Frederick, located to the SW of I-25 and Highway 52 making it easily accessible by families in Erie, Frederick, Firestone, Longmont, Mead and Fort Lupton.

Shredder Ski and Board School Lafayette: 1729 Majestic Dr Unit 1, Lafayette, CO 80026

What Will I find at Shredder Ski and Board?

I’ve heard from many friends that they had no idea there was a location in Frederick, so close to Erie! There is and guess what?! It is twice the size of the more well known Lafayette location. All of the pictures shown in this article were taken at the Shredder Ski and Board Frederick location.

Whichever location you choose, here are some of the reasons to check them out today!

Ski and Snowboard Lessons

If you think about everything that goes into a child’s first trip to the ski slope, it gets instantly overwhelming! They are bundled up as giant marshmallows barely able to move, putting on heavy, mostly immovable boots, enduring whatever weather the day throws at you…and then they’re expected to listen to you, or an instructor there, teach them to go down a mountain?! It adds so much difficulty to what is supposed to be a fun family day!

For all of those reasons and more, I recommend checking out the ski and snowboard lessons offered at Shredder. Classes are small so each child gets individual attention and they are divided by age. Group classes are offered for ages 1 to 10 and private lessons are available for older children and teens. During the class sessions, not only will they learn proper form for skiing or snowboarding, they’ll also learn what the signs mean, how to put on their boots, how to “walk” with your skis on and, by using a bench, how a ski lift works.

This preparation will make an actual trip to the slopes so much easier!

Birthday Parties at Shredder Ski and Board

Did you know that you can host a birthday party at Shredder on Saturday’s and Sunday’s?! Whether your kiddo loves to ski or not, there are birthday party packages at Shredder Frederick (shown in photos) and Lafayette locations perfect for ages 3 to 10. A standard party includes the bounce house, games and sledding plus time for cake and presents. Another party package includes skiing and snowboarding! Click here for all of the details!

Parent Night Out

Shredder Ski and Board School offers Parent Night Out options, rotating each Friday between the Frederick and Lafayette locations. This is not one of those “drop off for an hour and barely have time to go out” situations! This is a four hour timeframe, 4:30 – 8:30pm, and includes kids snowboarding and skiing, games, crafts, movies and a pizza dinner!

Open Gym

One offering that really sets Shredder apart is that they offer “Open Gym” time slots where your child can come practice! This is a great option if it has been a while since they were last on the slopes or if they just need a little extra time practicing with the assistance of a parent/adult.

Mark Your Calendars for Next Summer!

Keep your children excited about skiing and snowboarding all year long by signing them up for summer camp at Shredder! It is very difficult to find a summer camp as flexible as theirs with no “week-long” commitments required – you can sign up for half day or full day, any days you want!

  • Camps are designed for ages 3 – 10 (flexible, must be potty trained)
