Unless your child has had soccer or baseball practice here, you probably have no idea that one of the best parks in Erie is tucked in this quiet neighborhood. An older playground with well used equipment, but by far the favorite stop of the day for our girls. With the large T-Rex watching from the middle of the play area, it brings out imagination galore. Kanemoto, One of the Best Parks in Longmont!
Near the southern edge of Longmont, just north of Prospect, you will find a new favorite place, Kanemoto Park. Not only is the playground fun (and next to a perfect summer pool for little ones), it comes with a bit of town history as well. In 1966, the land where the park currently sits was donated to the City of Longmont by the Kanemoto family. The seven-acre park was named after the patriarch Goroku Kanemoto (1882-1935) who immigrated from Japan in 1910. According to the Longmont Observer, the sons of Kanemoto, Jimmie and George, commissioned the Tower of Compassion (explained in detail below) in 1972 as a symbol of gratitude…

Have You Been to the Lafayette Chicken Park?!
My daughters and I love Silver Creek Park (or most well known as “the chicken park”) in Lafayette, Colorado! With its adorable scavenger hunt, long zipline and so much more, it is a favorite park for all in the area. Honestly, the only reason we don’t spend more time there is because there is no bathroom 😉 Address: 612-566 Starline Ave, Lafayette, CO 80026 This poultry farm-themed park was inspired by the previous owners of the property, the Nuoci family. There is a plaque at the entrance along with the historic grain mixer from their farm, noting “one of the region’s largest poultry farms from 1920 to 1978.” I enjoy…

Zoom to Mars at the Indoor Playground in Colorado Mills!
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has done it again! They have created a fun, unique indoor playground “Mars Outpost” at Colorado Mills and we loved it. This is the perfect place to take a play break while shopping and it is conveniently located by a handful of kid-oriented shops like Carter’s and the Lego store. For another great play area created by the Museum, check out the Cherry Creek mall in Denver! Best New Playgrounds in Loveland, Colorado!
Last week, we visited some of the recently updated playgrounds in Loveland, Colorado. It was a unique February weekend without snow (the next day hit 75 degrees!) so we made an afternoon of it! Before we started our park tour, we HAD to visit the Love Lock Sculptures at the Loveland Visitor Center! What a beautiful way to add to the local art as well as celebrate your love for others. When you visit, try and spot our #lovelock on the “L”! This post may contain affiliate links and while we may earn compensation when you click on the links, it is at no additional cost to you. Loveland’s Dwayne Webster Park (aka “the Cannon Park”)
The City of Loveland has a goal to replace playgrounds every 10 years and in 2019, Dwayne Webster Veterans Park was a recipient! With it’s great location along Eisenhower, looking across at Lake Loveland, it is a perfect place to meet up with friends. If you’re meeting someone from Loveland, don’t be surprised if they call it the “cannon park” though because of the cannon just to the north of the play area.
