Northmoor Sensory Playground (and a bonus playground too!)
You may read this title and think “What makes a playground a sensory playground?” Or, maybe your child needs a sensory playground and you’ve been searching for more options. This was a new term for me a few years ago, here’s what I found… A sensory playground provides a solution for children on the spectrum. Specifically designed to meet their needs, a sensory playground offers ASD children the type of sensory input they’re most comfortable with, while fostering enhanced motor skills, balance and coordination. Fun Factory Sensory Gym There are many aspects that make up a sensory playground, including more space between equipment, areas/panels for individual play, and a focus…

Two Must-See Playgrounds in Firestone!
In our search to find the best playgrounds in Firestone, we asked friends in the area, reviewed the town website and looked for pictures on Google. That research brought us to our first park, however, the second park was small world coincidence for sure! If you have met us at a park, you probably found out about Slides & Sunshine from my oldest daughter. She could have a future in marketing! Anyway, after she shared what we do with a local grandmother at park #1, we found out that she was an expert on nearby parks! We had a short amount of time but she convinced us to make a…

T-Rex Fans Will Love this Dinosaur Park in Boulder!
We sure love themed playgrounds and recently came across this dinosaur park in Boulder, Colorado (otherwise known as East Boulder Community Park). An older playground with well used equipment, but by far the favorite stop of the day for our girls. With the large T-Rex watching from the middle of the play area, it brings out imagination galore. Address: 5660 Sioux Dr, Boulder, CO 80303 Park Logistics Bathroom: The playground is near the East Boulder Community Center, however if that is closed, we spotted…

Loveland’s Dwayne Webster Park (aka “the Cannon Park”)
The City of Loveland has a goal to replace playgrounds every 10 years and in 2019, Dwayne Webster Veterans Park was a recipient! With it’s great location along Eisenhower, looking across at Lake Loveland, it is a perfect place to meet up with friends. If you’re meeting someone from Loveland, don’t be surprised if they call it the “cannon park” though because of the cannon just to the north of the play area. Washington Park Playground Looks Completely Different! Love it or Leave it?
I had heard years ago that we should visit the “boathouse playground” at Washington Park in Denver. Little did we know as we finally made it there this fall, it was removed in September 2018! Apparently, that playground had been built decades earlier and the out-dated wooden structure caused safety concerns. Luckily, we missed all of the construction and found a brand new Washington Park playground completely finished. The reason for my article’s title…many rocks around the park had “Bring our old equipment back!” written with chalk. Apparently there are some that miss the old playground 🙁 I’ll let you be the judge – check out the new playground below…

This Slide (and View) Will Take Your Breath Away!
Do your kids love tall slides? You HAVE to visit Estates Park in Golden! This quiet, neighborhood park that overlooks Table Mesa and the town below has one of the tallest slides we’ve seen in Colorado. Ellsworth Dr., Golden, CO 80401 Bathroom/Shade: There is a portable bathroom next to the parking lot. Musical Fun at the New & Improved Clement Park!
When we heard that there was a completely redone park in Littleton, of course we had to visit! Oh my goodness, it was amazing! It is a huge playground and was really crowded for a Wednesday morning, yet I felt calm. How can you not feel at peace at such a gorgeous location overlooking Johnson Reservoir with an incredible view of the Colorado mountains?! This post may contain affiliate links and while we may earn compensation when you click on the links, it is at no additional cost to you. Let Their Lights Shine at Countryside Park!
You know those moments when you see your child’s eyes go wide as their imagination kicks in? That was what we experienced the first time we went to Countryside Park in Westminster! “I’m the Captain!” “I’ll go check the lighthouse!” “Watch out for pirates!” The theme is so well done that it’s almost impossible not to get straight into character. This post may contain affiliate links and while we may earn compensation when you click on the links, it is at no additional cost to you. Address: 10470 Oak St, Broomfield, CO 80021 This will take you to the Countryside Pool parking lot. The actual playground is a little walk…

Treasure to be found in Silverthorne!
Whether you live in the mountains, plan a weekend trip or are just passing through, knowing where some great playgrounds are along the way is a must when you have kids. We came across Trent Park the last time we visited Silverthorne and the girls loved it! Address: 100 Willowbrook Rd, Silverthorne, CO 80498 Recommended ages: My opinion, ages 8 and under. This is an adorable structure but doesn’t have many thrills for the older kids. Unique Features: The Pirate theme to this park was well done complete with a ship, telescope, and treasure map. The feature that continues to be our favorite at a lot of newer parks though…
