This Slide (and View) Will Take Your Breath Away!

Do your kids love tall slides? You HAVE to visit Estates Park in Golden! This quiet, neighborhood park that overlooks Table Mesa and the town below has one of the tallest slides we’ve seen in Colorado.

Golden Estates Park

Address: 16164 W. Ellsworth Dr., Golden, CO 80401

Bathroom/Shade: There is a portable bathroom next to the parking lot. I wish there was a way to have more shade over the actual playground, but at least this park had some large trees and shaded picnic tables along the side.

Age Recommendations: This is a park for the older kids, ages 5 and up. There were 2 baby swings, a chair swing and a few small slides, but otherwise, the playground is definitely geared toward kids that can climb high and love monkey bars.

Unique Features: The girls were in absolute awe as we walked toward the play structure – it had one of the TALLEST slides we’ve seen! My oldest told me after “The slides were the scariest but most fun I’ve ever been to!” Then when I asked what my other two daughters thought of the park, I got “Amazing!” and “That was crazy!”. It was fun for me too as I heard them laugh and scream their way down 😉 Not only were there two tall curved slides, there was also a very steep open slide that took their breath away!

Do you see how tall the slide is compared to my 4 year old?! Ahhh!!

Since I have a bunch of monkeys in my family, the variety of bars and things to climb across was perfect. I don’t know why single bars and parallel bars are so rare – the girls love them!

While you’re in the Golden area, we highly recommend a stop at Maple Grove Park as well. It would be perfect if you have younger children that weren’t big fans of the tall slide!

Nearby: Just down the hill from the park is a frisbee golf course (not in great shape) and you’ll also find tennis and basketball courts.

We can’t wait to hear what your kiddos think of that crazy high slide! Do you know of any other great slides? Comment below and we’ll check them out!
