5 Adorable Toddler-Friendly Parks in St Vrain Valley!

Playgrounds are amazing, except when you arrive and there is nothing designed for your age kiddo, especially toddlers! It is so important to get your little ones out to parks for many reasons, including socialization, learning fine motor skills, taking safe risks, and physical activity. We all can enjoy a place where toddlers can get out some of that bubbling energy! This is why we’ve partnered with Fit4Mom St Vrain Valley to share five toddler-friendly parks nearby.

Sandstone Ranch Park

Address: 3001 CO-119, Longmont, CO 80504

If you haven’t yet been to Longmont’s “Adventure Playground and Wheels Park” at Sandstone Ranch, you’re in for a treat! There is not 1, but 3, playgrounds to explore at Sandstone Ranch, along with a 0.7 mile walking loop, splash pad and skate park.

The large playground, shown in the pictures below, has a farm-themed area that toddlers will love! It is covered in green turf and has a horse and cow to play on. The middle of the playground is water-themed with a turtle sandpit, fish and frog play area, and splash pad! For even more details about Sandstone Ranch Park, visit: https://slidesandsunshine.com/sandstone-ranch-longmont/.

Stroller Strides at Sandstone Ranch Park with Fit4Mom St Vrain Valley is a total fitness program that moms can do with their babies. It includes power walking and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using exercise tubing, the stroller and the environment.

Arapahoe Ridge Park

Address: 1750 Powell St, Erie, CO 80516

I LOVE recommending Arapahoe Ridge Park in Erie to friends with little ones! The biggest reason I love it…shade! There are large trees surrounding the play area so it is a wonderful park to enjoy year round. It is also fantastic for toddlers because of its easy-to-walk-on rubber surfacing; nautical theme complete with ship, treasure and “shark below!”; and playhouse.

Harney Park

Address: 10245 Devonshire St, Firestone, CO 80504

An older style of equipment, but no less fun, awaits at Harney Park in Firestone! The playground is split into an area for ages 2 to 5 and a larger area for ages 5 to 12. The highlights for the youngest ages would be the wavy sidewalk, perfect for a scooter or strider bike, and the swings.

Stroller Barre® is a 60-minute stroller workout that improves your posture, stability, and mobility while strengthening your body from the inside out! Reconnect with your body, increase flexibility, and find the inner strength you need for motherhood.

Loomiller Park

Address: 1700 11th Ave, Longmont, CO 80501 (Playground is on the north side of the park, off of 12th Ave)

This brand new playground is fantastic for toddlers (and their older siblings too!). The most exciting feature is the small play structure because the top edge is actually a race car track! Bring along some Hot Wheels cars and trucks and start racing.

According to Landscape Structures “While this play structure meets the technical specifications for ages 2-5, it was uniquely designed for kids ages 2-3.” It has 16 interactive activities built into that one structure with everything from slides and ladders to moving shapes and a steering wheel.

The play area surrounding the structure is covered with colored rubber surfacing and includes a few small hills to climb over. There is also a large sand pit with play table at Loomiller Park. For more pictures of what to expect for older kids, visit https://slidesandsunshine.com/loomiller-park-longmont.

Garden Acres Park

Address: 2058 Spencer St, Longmont, CO 80501

Another great playground if your kiddo loves sand play is Garden Acres Park in Longmont! There is also a play structure located on rubber surfacing for ages 2 to 5 and a seated spinner/merry go round.

Bonus…just a short walk away is a SHADED playground! This play area is located in the center of the ballfields at Garden Acres Park and is completely covered. We love going on weekdays when there is less likely to be baseball or softball games being played.
