Fly with Peter Pan in Westminster!

Any time I’ve asked a group about parks to visit, Westminster Center Park or “The Peter Pan Park” comes up. Because of its easy to find location, splash park and fun theme, it’s a favorite among many. I love the attention to detail, making this truly feel like London and the world of Peter Pan.

Bathroom/Shade: There is a bathroom building so bring along a lunch and stay for a while. Limited shade over the play structures but there is more under pavilions and nearby trees.

Age Recommendations: All, but with some caveats…

This is a wonderful place that every kid should visit, however, I say it with some caution. I’ve always been there with children under the age of 5 and my concern is that the crowds and rock slide make it easy to lose sight of your little ones. There are also some climbing features (Tower of London, see picture at top of post) that little ones love to climb up but then get stuck as there is not a slide to come down. On the other hand, there are many features like in the picture below, that toddlers love! All of that to say, this park is great for any age, but it might not be the most relaxing place for you.

Unique Features: True to its London-inspired theme, you’ll find Big Ben, the Tower of London and the River Thames. My girls always love parks with water features to cool down so definitely remember to take along swimsuits and towels. The river runs between the pavilions so that’s a good place to hang out with little ones and then fountains spray on the south side of the playground.

Kids can play “Peter Pan” easily with its London playroom (completely with Peter himself in the window), clock tower to fly by, and Pirate ship. Don’t forget the Tic Toc Croc is there too!

Good to know: The rock slide structure is fun but be prepared for them to be wet at the bottom as many kids run from the fountains straight to the slides. 😉
