My first thought whenever I see a new housing development, like Prospect Park in Broomfield, is always about the new playgrounds that will be built. In this case, we not only found one good playground, we found a whole bunch! And I have no doubt that as the area is developed, I’ll have to update this post with even more.
As you’ll see, some of the parks below have an approximate address or no name so please reach out or comment if you have any questions.

Address: 17293 Huron St, Broomfield, CO 80023
Wright Park is an adorable playground just off of Huron designed for ages 2 to 5. It would be perfect for a preschool or kindergarten age playdate! (No bathroom at this park, so plan ahead or make a stop at Hearthstone Park.)
What I noticed first were the eye-shaped panels on all edges of the structure. They are amazing with all kinds of sensory activities, number fun and games and at the perfect height! There is a disc shaped seat low enough for the kids to climb on, two baby swings, a short double slide and panels that leave fun colored shadows on the ground. My only wish would be that it had a rubber flooring versus the wood chips to make it more accessible for strollers and wheelchairs.
Looking for another great park for ages 2 to 5? Check out Crofton Park in Broomfield. Your littles will love the playhouse and scavenger hunt!
Address: 616-506 W 174th Ave, Westminster, CO 80023
Hearthstone Park is perfect for ages 5 to 12 and those looking for adventure! The main structure has all kinds of rope nets and obstacles, including a very thick rope bridge and rubber platforms to climb to. The monkey bars are circle shaped and at various angles making it a fun new challenge. This park only has two traditional swings so if you have a younger child, check out Wright Park instead.
There is a pavilion covering four picnic tables, a large grass field and a portable restroom making it a great spot to meet friends! Don’t forget to bring along a frisbee or soccer ball.
Address: Cherokee Street, Broomfield, CO 80023
At the north end of the neighborhood, you’ll find this unnamed park. The tree trunk and stone wall to climb give it a natural feel and the spiral slide will bring a smile. This playground is great if you have a variety of ages or if you want a peaceful, uncrowded spot.
Note that this playground does not have any swings or a restroom. There is a great walking path though so take along your pup to enjoy the outdoors while your kids play.

Ok, so the playground at this park isn’t anything too amazing (although it is new and unique for the area!), but the fitness park is worth the mention! To find it, you’ll park at the address listed and head east down a short path. This is the perfect spot for a peaceful, outdoor workout or walk about the lake! You’ll love the variety of equipment and the quietness while you get some exercise in.
