Lilley Gulch Park and its Colorado-themed Adventure!

If you’re looking for a fun way for your kids to learn about Colorado, take a trip to Lilley Gulch Park! With the Mt Everest climbing bars, local animal tracks and Gold Rush map, your little ones will get some hometown history as they play. There is a reason I’m writing this in January though…there is no shade making it a tough spot during the summer, but perfect for the winter!

Want to visit another fantastic playground in Littleton? Check out Chaucer Park just a few minutes away!

Age Recommendations: All. The younger children will enjoy the climbing features, gold miner cutout, and slides. The older, taller kids will love the high monkey bars.

Swings: Yes, 2 traditional and 2 baby swings.

Water Features: None.

Unique Features

There is so much to be discovered about Colorado at Lilley Gulch Park! Signs show Mt Elbert (the highest peak), Columbine (state flower), Lark Bunting (state bird), Sand Dunes, Coyote Den and the Colorado flag. There is also a “Trail to Gold” map showing many of the gold locations and even a gold miner cut out for posing!

I love the challenging monkey bars at the Columbine marker and that there is a sandbox representing the famous Sand Dunes!

Surrounding Area Highlights

Adjacent to Lilley Gulch Park are tennis courts, a walking path and the Lilley Gulch Recreation Center. The Rec Center has many fitness options including pickle ball, weights, gymnastics and an indoor pool. Check the website for hours and amenities currently available.

  • While you are in the area, you should also check out the recently updated Clement Park! Designed for inclusiveness, there are many elements accessible for all ages and abilities. Clement Park has a performing arts theme complete with all kinds of musical features!
Clement Park is amazing!
