Your Kids Will Be Obsessed With These THREE Geometric Playgrounds!

If you’re looking for a playground that offers something a little different, these three Denver-area destinations are worth exploring. Each features distinctive geometric play structures, including hexagonal climbing elements, unique pathways, slides, and interactive features that encourage kids to climb, explore, and stay active. Their modern designs make them stand out from traditional playgrounds while providing plenty of opportunities for imaginative play.

City of Potenza Park

Address: 1101 S Holly St, Denver, CO 80246

City of Potenza Park’s new playground is a colorful, imaginative space inspired by Denver’s sister-city relationship with Potenza, Italy. Opened in December 2024, the playground features the unique geometric “Hedra” play structure with climbing, balancing, and interconnected play areas that encourage kids to explore and stay active.

Kids can also climb up and over a hillside covered in turf, adding another fun way to run, climb, and play. The playground has swings for a range of ages, including a baby swing, two belt swings, and a chair swing, plus a new picnic shelter. There is no restroom at the park, so plan accordingly.

Bonus: It’s located close to Cherry Creek Shopping Center making it an easy stop to combine with a shopping day! The perfect way to let kids burn off some energy before or after a trip to the mall.

Fairways at Lone Tree Park

Address: 9607 Troon Village Dr, Lone Tree, CO 80124

Fairways at Lone Tree Park brings a bright, modern twist to the playground experience with its geometric play structure in vibrant orange and turquoise. While the colorful design is sure to catch kids’ attention, one of the biggest highlights is the taller two-part slide structure, topped with large shade panels that provide welcome relief on sunny days.

The playground also offers a thoughtful mix of inclusive features, including a four-person seesaw, smooth rubber surfacing, sensory panels for games and learning, Braille numbers, and a chair swing. These additions make the space accessible and engaging for a wide range of ages and abilities. A portable restroom is also available near the parking lot, as well as a basketball court with painted hopscotch squares.

Dailey Park

Address: 1 S Cherokee St, Denver, CO 80223

Dailey Park stands out among Denver’s playgrounds with its eye-catching geometric play structure, making it especially appealing for younger children who are ready to climb, crawl, and explore. The modern design features oversized hexagonal shapes, interactive climbing elements, and plenty of nooks and pathways for little ones to discover.

Older kids can take on the tall climbing structure and slide, adding a bit more adventure to the play experience. Located near Alameda Avenue and I-25, it’s also conveniently close to some of the area’s popular family-friendly spots, including Punch Bowl Social on Broadway, making it easy to turn a playground visit into part of a fun day out.
