3 Reasons Your Kids will LOVE Civic Green Park!

When you are looking for the perfect family spot this summer, look no further than Civic Green Park in Highlands Ranch! We have visited multiple times and it is always one where we wish we could stay longer. You’ll see below the three reasons that I think your kids will love it, and also a bonus reason making it perfect for all generations.

This park review is sponsored by Katie Keith, a local mom and Real Estate expert.  Where you live becomes the center of your universe: your “home base” and a place where memories are made. Katie and her family found this within her community. She is passionate about helping Colorado families make their real estate dreams a reality. Playground at Civic Green Park

#1 The Playground!

Age Recommendations: Most of the equipment is for younger ages (up to 6), however, there is a large rope climbing structure that your older kids will enjoy.

Unique Features: We have called Civic Green Park the “book park” since my kids were little. This is because there are large books to walk around and sight words printed along the path (and the Highlands Ranch Library is adjacent to the park!). Reading a page from your childhood favorites will create a special moment with your little one!

#2 Two Splash Pads!

What kid doesn’t want to run through a splash pad on a hot summer day?! There are actually two areas of fountains, one near the giant pavilion and the second is close to the playground. Civic Green Park is one of the only parks I’ve seen that has running fountains 24 hours a day (near the playground) while the checkerboard splash pad is on from 10am-8pm daily. Don’t forget to take along towels and sunscreen, I’m sure you’ll be at this park for a while!

#3 The Stream!

Creek at Civic Green Park in Highlands Ranch

The running stream is where my kids spend the most time at Civic Green Park. It is like you’ve been transported into the mountains and there is just something magical about feeling the stones under your feet while you walk through the water. If your kiddo has sensitive feet, it might be good to throw in some water shoes for extra protection. 😉

#4 (Bonus for Parents) Flower Garden and Art Walk

I am a Colorado girl and I love our state flower! I was amazed to see all of the different colors of Columbines, as well as so many other unique flowers in the garden. The rock sculptures and art walk create a peaceful place to visit away from the busy play areas.

Civic Green Park is a place generations can enjoy together!

Thanks for joining us at Slides & Sunshine. Now it’s time to get out there and PLAY!
