The recently updated Cottonwood Park in Louisville is a site to see! I was slightly disappointed as I reviewed my pictures because they are dark, but it is the best problem to have…it means the park was covered in SHADE! Keep reading to find out all of the great amenities to be found at Cottonwood Park.

Address: Via Appia & South Boulder Rd, Louisville, CO 80027. The entrance and parking lot is only accessible by traveling eastbound on South Boulder Rd.
Bathroom: Yes, there is a restroom building, open seasonally.
Shade: Yes! As you can see from the images, there are many large trees near the playground that provide shade.
Surface: Wood chips and a small area of turf by the ramp entrance. There is also a sand play area near the toddler structure.
Age Recommendations: All ages will love this playground at Cottonwood Park! There is a separate toddler structure and sand play area for younger kids. Your older kids will love the huge play structure with its variety of slides.
Inclusive Features: The entrance onto the large play structure is the only place where turf is installed creating a more accessible access point. There is a ramp that provides access to a seated glider and there is a chair swing (however it is over wood chips).
Swings: There are 3 traditional belt swings, 2 baby swings and 1 chair swing.
Water Features: None. For a nearby splash pad, check out Louisville Community Park.
Another scavenger hunt to add to the list! The panel of items to find is at the turf entrance to the play structure and shows each of the small items to find throughout the playground. Keep your eyes open, they can be on any piece of play equipment!
Along the south side of the playground is a long zipline. It has been down for a while but it was up when we took a recent visit in April 2023. It was the only thing my 8-year old did the entire time we were there!
The sand play area is in the perfect spot for shade being under a large tree! The last time we stopped by, the table was full of pinecones – I love seeing the creativity and imagination play features inspire.
This area of Louisville is beautiful with huge trees and walking path. You can bring along a basketball for the small court or a frisbee for the grass lawn, all ages will find something to enjoy at Cottonwood Park!
