My daughters and I were absolutely thrilled to be part of the Virtual Re-Opening celebration of Crescent Park in Erie on September 28th! I don’t know if the girls really grasped the Leslie Knope coolness factor of that or if they only heard “you get to be the first kids to try out the playground”…either way, none of us could wait to get there!
No longer are the faded play structures to be seen, this new GameTime equipment is bright and eye-catching. One side has the more traditional elements (slides, swings, spinners) and the other side is a 7 piece challenge course!

Address: 1300 Lombardi St, Erie, CO 80516
Bathroom: Yes, there is a portable restroom available at ALL Town of Erie parks! 🙂
Shade: Yes! Check out that lovely shade in the photo above. There is a canopy over the play structure, but better than that, there are huge trees and a multi-table pavilion!
Looking for another fantastic playground in Erie? Check out one of our favorites, Longs Peak Park, with its peaceful location and scavenger hunt!
Age Recommendations: Ages 2 and up! There are elements of the playground that young ones will enjoy, however, the challenge course is built more for ages 5+. And by +, I mean that I for sure had to try some of the challenges myself so… I’ll just say that all ages will love Crescent Park.
Swings: Yes. There are two traditional swings, one baby swing and one accessible chair swing.
Water Features: None.
I’m so glad you asked! This challenge course brings something unique to Erie and will give your child the feeling that they’re the next contestant on American Ninja Warrior. There are 7 elements that make up the course that will have the kids laughing (and sweating!) as they try them over and over again.
The girls also love that there is synthetic turf. It made those couple tumbles they took much better as they figured out each obstacle. 😉

I’ve already covered so much and there’s a whole other side to the playground at Crescent Park! This side is more traditional, but I say that lightly. It may have the slides and swings, but it is quite unique as well.
The surfacing on this side of the playground is engineered wood fiber. Since it is new, it feels much softer and squishier than typical wood chips.
My oldest (she’s 12) says that this area is a great place to play tag or design your own obstacle course. Your little ones will love spotting the rainbow colors shining through the Shadow Play panels – they look like stained glass up above!
Don’t miss a visit to another of Erie’s fantastic parks while you’re nearby. Star Meadows is perfect for your lil’ astronomer! And, if you go on a weekend or late afternoon, you can play at the elementary school playground nearby.
Crescent Park has a large pavilion with multiple tables available for reservations. I bet this will be popular birthday party location next summer! In addition to the playground, you will find grills, large grassy field (perfect for soccer or frisbee!) and walking paths.
Thanks for joining us at Slides & Sunshine! Now it’s time to get out there and PLAY!
Don’t forget to Pin for later!
