Here’s Why You Should Visit Erie’s New Clayton Park!
This is so exciting, there is ANOTHER new park in Erie! This time we’re talking about Clayton Park, so new that you can’t find it on Google maps. Located in the Erie Highlands neighborhood, it has mountain views, tall slide and much more!

Clayton Park Logistics
Address: 495 Highlands Circle, Erie, CO 80516
Bathroom: Yes, there is a portable restroom south of the playground.
Shade: Not much shade over the playground, however, there is a large pavilion covering six picnic tables.
Age Recommendations: Ages 5+ for most of the playground. There is a baby swing and chair zipline that the younger ages can use, but for the most part, the play structure is built for older ages.

Swings: You will find two traditional swings, 1 baby swing and 1 accessible chair swing.
Water Features: None.
Unique Features
Clayton Park, the newest park in Erie, is home to the highest slide in the area. Not only is it high, it is also a challenge to get to as it is only accessible by climbing through rope mazes! There is also the half-enclosed slide shown and a wide mouthed slide on the other side.
Head to the west side of Erie for some space themed fun at Star Meadows Park!
Most likely, the slide is what will catch their eye, but the ziplines will keep them wanting to come back! One side is a chair to allow kids of all sizes and abilities to swing and the other is a more traditional sit/stand zipline.
There are a variety of climbing options at Clayton Park, including rope mazes and a jagged ladder.
Additional Highlights
To complete the last quadrant of the playground, there is a slide built into the hillside and climbable boulders connected by a rope obstacle. With our current situation of social distancing, I liked the variety of places to sit (picnic tables under pavilion, small tables shown below and cubes on far left).
To the south of the playground, there is a huge field (perfect for future football and soccer practices!) and two baseball fields next to the elementary school opening fall 2021.
