When looking for a fun place to take the kids before school started, I took some time to review recommendations that you all have sent to me. What I found was that Lee Martinez Park has come up over and over again and I was honestly amazed that we hadn’t made it there yet! Well, you all delivered! Not only did we have an amazing time at the playground, but we also took the time to visit The Farm at Lee Martinez Park and they loved it.

The playground at Lee Martinez Park truly has something for everyone! Our group fell in love with the bouncing rope seesaw, the ziplines and all of the obstacle elements. You will also find fish-shaped bouncers, a giant tree trunk to climb over, a four person seesaw, and an animal tracks scavenger hunt!
Making Lee Martinez Park completely unique is “The Farm”! There is a cost to enter, but once you’re in, you can wander around and enjoy many aspects of the farm. You can view, and sometimes touch, the animals there (pigs, sheep, cattle, horses, turkey, goats, etc) and on certain days, pony rides are available. Check here for full details on admission cost, hours of operation and any restrictions.
We all enjoyed the two museum buildings at The Farm as well. You get to see the progression of farming tools, learn about goods produced through farming and farm animal facts. One museum is near the chickens and small playground and the other is in the first floor of the silo.
The parking lot near the playground is also an entrance to the Poudre Trail! This is a great trail for walking, running, and family bike rides. Also nearby are tennis courts, basketball courts, and the fitness equipment area.
Thanks for joining us at Slides & Sunshine. Now it’s time to get out there and PLAY!
