Longmont Train Park Collyer | Slides and Sunshine

After a hot morning of shade-less playgrounds, we were pleasantly surprised to come across this adorable train park in Longmont! We love a good theme and this train play structure at Collyer Park was enjoyed by all. And, if your kiddo is a train lover, the park is next to actual train tracks where you can watch real trains roll by!

Bathroom: Yes. There is a bathroom building available with running water sink.

Shade: YES! This is one of the most common questions I receive about playgrounds…”does it have shade?” I’m happy to report (and you can tell from my dark pictures 😉 ) that there is a lot of shade here at the train park.

Age Recommendations: 2 to 8. This park is designed for younger kids with short slides and many sensory components. Older kids will have fun here too, it is perfect for a game of groundies!

Looking for another fantastic park in Longmont? Check out the newly updated Carr Park with it’s tall slides and swing zipline!

Swings: Yes. There are two traditional swings and two baby swings.

Water Features: None.

Collyer Park’s Unique Features

The train play system is the main feature of this playground and where your kids will spend their time. On the north side, this Longmont “train park” has a recognizable front engine #487, wheels and bells to chime. You’ll watch the children climb up the curved ladder and check the giant clock while shouting “All Aboard!”

A few more unique features… Test your leg strength at the Jump-n-Touch showing some of the world’s highest peaks and climb the “Christmas trees” (as my youngest called them).

Surrounding Area Highlights

Surrounding the train park is a large field with many shade trees perfect for picnics. You will also find other activities such as tennis courts, sand volleyball or bring along your favorite frisbee!

If your child loves all things trains, we recommend you plan a visit to Breckenridge’s High Line Railroad Park too! Another great train play structure as well as a train museum and actual train cars to explore!
