Here’s Why Longs Peak is One of the Best Parks in Erie!

Unless your child has had soccer or baseball practice here, you probably have no idea that one of the best parks in Erie is tucked in this quiet neighborhood. Longs Peak Park is one of our family favorites for a few reasons, but for me, it is the peacefulness and view of, you guessed it, Longs Peak!

Longs Peak Park Logistics

Address: 311 Wheat Berry Dr, Erie, CO 80516

Bathroom: Yes, there is one portable restroom near the baseball field.

Shade: The play equipment at Longs Peak Park is not directly shaded, however, there is a covered pavilion and many large trees for cooling off. Don’t forget to bring along our favorite sunscreen for those hot days!

Age Recommendations: The sign welcomes children ages 2 to 12. In our opinion, this playground is more for kids up to 8 since there are no tall slides or challenging equipment. If you do have older children with you, bring along a basketball, frisbee or whatever they’d enjoy on the huge grassy field.

Longs Peak Park Unique Features

As you may have seen from previous posts, our family loves a playground scavenger hunt! There are 10 hidden objects to find and we not only enjoy finding them one by one, we also love to turn them into races and games. To give you an idea of what you’re looking for, the small white oval on the green pole has a picture of the white flower. 😉

Does your family love scavenger hunts too? Check out these other Colorado parks that also have one! https://slidesandsunshine.com/tag/scavengerhunt/

Surrounding Area Highlights

The area surrounding the playground at Longs Peak Park is beautiful and peaceful. You’ll see in the view below a basketball court, soccer fields, and a baseball field, something for everyone!

Guess what?! Another of the best parks in Erie is a few blocks away! Star Meadows provides space-themed fun and you will enjoy nature themed play at the school nearby!

Thanks for joining us at Slides & Sunshine. Now it’s time to get out there and PLAY!

Don’t Forget to Pin for Later!
