I am writing this at a time where many parents are wondering “what should I do with kids at home for weeks”? We are working our way through the Coronavirus pandemic and sadly facing many unknowns. So, although I typically share playgrounds to stay active, for today I’m sharing how to stay active INDOORS. Here is a list of 10 ideas for staying active inside your home… 1 – Create an Obstacle Course Right off the bat, this comes with a warning – there is likely an age limit depending on your home and amount of breakable items. Kanemoto, One of the Best Parks in Longmont!
Near the southern edge of Longmont, just north of Prospect, you will find a new favorite place, Kanemoto Park. Not only is the playground fun (and next to a perfect summer pool for little ones), it comes with a bit of town history as well. In 1966, the land where the park currently sits was donated to the City of Longmont by the Kanemoto family. The seven-acre park was named after the patriarch Goroku Kanemoto (1882-1935) who immigrated from Japan in 1910. According to the Longmont Observer, the sons of Kanemoto, Jimmie and George, commissioned the Tower of Compassion (explained in detail below) in 1972 as a symbol of gratitude…

Have You Been to the Lafayette Chicken Park?!
My daughters and I love Silver Creek Park (or most well known as “the chicken park”) in Lafayette, Colorado! With its adorable scavenger hunt, long zipline and so much more, it is a favorite park for all in the area. Honestly, the only reason we don’t spend more time there is because there is no bathroom 😉 Address: 612-566 Starline Ave, Lafayette, CO 80026 This poultry farm-themed park was inspired by the previous owners of the property, the Nuoci family. There is a plaque at the entrance along with the historic grain mixer from their farm, noting “one of the region’s largest poultry farms from 1920 to 1978.” I enjoy…

3 Quick Tips for an Easier Bedtime!
Why am I writing about bedtime tips you might ask? You’d think that running around in the sunshine and experiencing playgrounds would be enough to secure a child ready to go to bed. But, as I’m sure you know, that is very often not the case. The busier the day, the more hyper our kids seem to be at the end of the night! We’ve struggled with the whining, the bouncing around, the reappearing child on the stairs…something had to change. By implementing these 3 tips, we’ve seen easier bedtimes and more successful nights of sleep for our entire family! When making changes to your child’s routine, consult with your…
