This Brighton Park Brings Amusement to All!

Daniel Carmichael Park, named after the city’s Founder, will delight your children with its fun colors and circus feel – it is a well-loved Brighton park! While the rubber playground surfacing (playground floor) has seen better days, the equipment was in good shape and the girls had a fantastic time.

Bathroom/Shade: The park has a nice pavilion (reserve here) with a few covered picnic tables and bathroom building. However, because the building is between the pavilion and playground, it’s difficult to watch your kids as they play.

Age Recommendations: The playground equipment is designed for ages 2 to 12. There are baby swings, a sand area, and separate toddler play structure for those on the younger side. The older kids will love the tall slides, tire swing and monkey bars.

Swings: There are 2 traditional swings, 2 baby swings and 1 tire swing.

Water features: None

Unique Features

The large play structure, which we call the “circus tent”, is where we spent the most time at this Brighton Park. With its tall twisting slides and breathtaking ladder climbs, your kids will love the thrills.

Another unique feature to the playground is the Maypole, a rotating bar designed by Miracle Recreation. Because of its height, the Maypole will be a draw to those tall enough to reach it. Beware though that once it gets moving, you can fly!

Update (January 2020): We were delighted to see that the rock wall with slide inside was open! The girls could have spent all afternoon on just this one structure!

Additionally, there are monkey bars, rock climbing, soccer fields, a basketball court, tennis courts and an inline hockey/skating rink.

Surrounding Area Highlights

Daniel Carmichael Park is next to Brighton’s Town Hall and is the location for many town gatherings, including firework displays and art shows. There is a beautiful sculpture walk making it the perfect place to unplug and enjoy a nice stroll.

Carmichael Park brought smiles and laughter to all of the kids there. Out of the five Brighton parks we visited, this was our second favorite. If you haven’t already seen, here is a link to our favorite of the day: https://slidesandsunshine.com/brightonpark/.
