Northmoor Sensory Playground (and a bonus playground too!)
You may read this title and think “What makes a playground a sensory playground?” Or, maybe your child needs a sensory playground and you’ve been searching for more options. This was a new term for me a few years ago, here’s what I found… A sensory playground provides a solution for children on the spectrum. Specifically designed to meet their needs, a sensory playground offers ASD children the type of sensory input they’re most comfortable with, while fostering enhanced motor skills, balance and coordination. Fun Factory Sensory Gym There are many aspects that make up a sensory playground, including more space between equipment, areas/panels for individual play, and a focus…

Loveland’s Dwayne Webster Park (aka “the Cannon Park”)
The City of Loveland has a goal to replace playgrounds every 10 years and in 2019, Dwayne Webster Veterans Park was a recipient! With it’s great location along Eisenhower, looking across at Lake Loveland, it is a perfect place to meet up with friends. If you’re meeting someone from Loveland, don’t be surprised if they call it the “cannon park” though because of the cannon just to the north of the play area. You Haven’t Really Played Tag Until You’ve Played Tag at this Park!
If you have adventurous kids that love making an obstacle course out of anything, the next stop for you is Big Dry Creek Park in Westminster! With its high-bridged play structure, they will be sure to have a great time with that touch of thrill. This post may contain affiliate links and while we may earn compensation when you click on the links, it is at no additional cost to you. Address: 1700 W 128th Ave, Westminster, CO 80234 Shade: This is a great park to visit during the spring or fall, or on a cloud-covered day. I don’t recommend visiting when it is sunny, 60+ degrees though because the…

This Slide (and View) Will Take Your Breath Away!
Do your kids love tall slides? You HAVE to visit Estates Park in Golden! This quiet, neighborhood park that overlooks Table Mesa and the town below has one of the tallest slides we’ve seen in Colorado. Ellsworth Dr., Golden, CO 80401 Bathroom/Shade: There is a portable bathroom next to the parking lot. I wish there was a way to have more shade over the actual playground, but at least this park had some large trees and shaded picnic tables along the…

Twin Silo Park, A Farm-themed Playground Like No Other!
If you haven’t been to Fort Collins lately, I am going to show you why your kids will be begging for a trip there soon! Twin Silo Park is INCREDIBLE! I am calling it farm-themed because there are silos and a giant barn structure but that is really where the similarities end. We had never seen a park like this! This post may contain affiliate links and while we may earn compensation when you click on the links, it is at no additional cost to you. Address: 5552-5564 Ziegler Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80528 Bathroom/Shade: There is a well kept, large bathroom building as well as water fountains. The kids…

Jessica Ridgeway Memorial Park in Westminster is Darling!
I honestly can’t believe it has taken me this long to write about the Jessica Ridgeway Memorial Park because it is one of our favorites! As you’ll see from the pictures below, it is filled with all kinds of unique details that young kids will love. Address: 10765 Moore St, Westminster, CO 80021 Bathroom/Shade: Unfortunately, no bathroom at the park or close by so plan accordingly. There is some shade along the sides of the park and canopies over the picnic tables, however, all of the playground equipment is uncovered and can get hot. This Broomfield Park is Perfect for the Little Ones!
I get asked all the time about park recommendations and hands down, this is my FAVORITE if you have small children (under age 6). It is called Crofton Park! It was completely redone a few years ago so the equipment is beautiful and made with such attention to detail! Address: 3432 W 125th Dr, Broomfield, CO 80020 Only downside is that there isn’t a bathroom nearby so might not be the place to go when potty training, unless you’re taking one of these along 😉 Unique Features: The park has so many unique features with my favorite being the building blocks instead of ladders or stairs. They’ve also made such…
