Cherry Park in Thornton, a Pleasant Surprise!

We find parks from town websites, playground manufacturers and parent recommendations (thank you!), but this park in Thornton was found by a happy accident! We were trying to visit Cherry Drive Elementary’s playground and when we found that the equipment was in use by a day camp, we went to the next closest park…Cherry Park! As you’ll see why below, what a hidden gem!

No sand box here but that didn’t stop the girls from using the “digger” on the wood chips.

While you’re in the area, check out the colorful, inclusive playground at Carpenter Park. You’ll find a splash pad, carousel and lake activities as well!

Unique Features

The clubhouse-themed play structure at Cherry Park in Thornton is wonderful! There is a second story with a tall slide for the more adventurous and many slides, ladders, and bridge making it perfect for a game of tag.

We love the “extras” added to the play structure, such as the spinners and rolling bar slide. There was also a log roller and apparently we don’t have this skill yet so it led to a lot of laughs!

Surrounding Area Highlights

Cherry Park in Thornton is also home to two baseball fields, a basketball court and large multipurpose field. It also provides a great walking path along the perimeter for a nice family stroll or with your pups!

Looking for another great playground nearby? Check out Cherry Drive Elementary during non-school hours, it’s fantastic!

Thanks for joining us at Slides & Sunshine. Now it’s time to get out there and PLAY!

Don’t forget to Pin for later!
