NEW Incredible Playground AND Splash Pad in Fort Lupton?!
I knew that Fort Lupton had just received a playground makeover at the Community Center Park, however, I was blown away by both that AND the new splash pad! I am so excited for this community, and those visiting, to have such an amazing, free amenity. The playground has play elements for every age and ability and the splash pad area even has a splash-free water feature that I’ve never seen before! Keep reading to see why you need to add this stop to your list as soon as possible…

Bathroom: Yes! There is a restroom building with changing table and water fountain available near the splash pad.
Shade: Some. There are two big pavilions off to the side and a few shaded tables spread around the park. I love that the swings are covered so they don’t burn when you sit down!
Surface: Rubber surfacing throughout the play areas.
Age Recommendations: ALL! Not only are there play elements for each age child, there is also a skate park, splash pad and fitness walk.
Inclusive Features: So many! The playground at Fort Lupton Community Park has rubber surfacing throughout making it easily accessible for all ages and abilities. There is also a roller bar slide (safe for cochlear implants), accessible merry go round, chair swing and many sensory and musical panels.

Water Features: Fort Lupton Community Park has a large splash pad with a variety of fountains from below and above. What sets it apart though is the non-splash water play area, shown in the Unique Features section below. Go now – the splash pad is open through Sept 22nd!
Unique Features
I absolutely loved seeing this shallow non-splash water feature at Fort Lupton Community Park! Built into the concrete, a water spout pours water into one end of this pad where kids can walk through the water, stop or redirect the water, and enjoy a cool down without being splashed.
The playground is huge! The larger play structure is designed for ages 5+ and has a spiral slide three stories high. The kids loved the two levels of bridges, rope mazes and various climbing options, including a rubber warp wall!
The smaller play structure is also full of play opportunities with some shade panels overhead. There is a roller bar slide, open tunnel, easy climbing wall and “Burke mart” storefront underneath.
Another great feature of the Fort Lupton Community Park is this human-powered “Movmnt” game! Once you start the game by spinning the wheel, different buttons light up and it’s a race to see how many you can hit in the time given. Race with a friend or by yourself!
Surrounding Area Highlights
There is still some construction going on but near the playground is a great skate park with various obstacles to try with your skateboards, rollerblades, bikes, etc. I also appreciated that there was a large area without obstacles with those learning their wheels 😉
Around the large perimeter of the community center and park is a fitness loop. Every so often along the walking path is an exercise panel like the one shown below.
