Georgetown Park is Perfect For Colorado Road Trip Fun!

This Georgetown park is not a new park, in fact, I’ve been sent it as a recommendation from many of you. However, it was new to us, and to all that haven’t been there yet, it needs to be added to your playground bucket list! Georgetown’s City Park is magical with its unique playground and mountain views. This is definitely one of the best stops along I-70 as you travel to your destination. It is worth the stop, your kids will thank you!

Love the sunglasses we’re always wearing? It’s time to get a pair for yourself! goodr sunglasses are great quality, inexpensive, polarized and don’t slip off while running!

Age Recommendations: While most of the playground is geared toward younger ages, I feel that all ages will find something to love here. It fills us adults with nostalgia as we remember older wooden playgrounds and, for the older kids, it creates a complicated path for games of tag!

Inclusive Features: The rubber surfacing helps make most of this playground accessible to all. There is a separate area for toddlers and a stage set up for puppet shows.

Swings: There is one tire swing and, as you can see below, it is a not a very wide tire, just built for one.

Water Features: None.

Unique Features of Georgetown Park

Everything about this playground is unique! From the store fronts in the toddler section to the interesting obstacles to this puppet show theater, every kid will find something they enjoy.

Some of the playground feels like you’re visiting a town, another section is very castle-like and right in the middle is this giant birdhouse (shown below). I cannot say enough about how fun and interesting this Georgetown park was for us!

Surrounding Area Highlights

The surroundings are gorgeous around Georgetown’s City Park. I would’ve loved to stay longer, but we used it as a place to stretch our legs during a longer road trip.

*If you need a spot for lunch nearby, we ate at the Alpine Restaurant and it was fantastic! We enjoyed pizza, calzones and a chicken parmesan sandwich – not your typical quick bite along the highway.

Do you have a question for us? Another park recommendation? Please let us know in the comments below, we’d love to hear from you.
