Zoom to Mars at the Indoor Playground in Colorado Mills!

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has done it again! They have created a fun, unique indoor playground “Mars Outpost” at Colorado Mills and we loved it. This is the perfect place to take a play break while shopping and it is conveniently located by a handful of kid-oriented shops like Carter’s and the Lego store.

For another great play area created by the Museum, check out the Cherry Creek mall in Denver!

Address: 14500 W Colfax Ave, Lakewood, CO 80401 (The play area is located near Carters so the best place to park is near Dick’s Sporting Goods.)

Hours: Colorado Mills is open from 10AM – 9PM Monday through Saturday and 11AM – 6PM on Sundays. The secret is that those are the store hours, the mall is actually open to walkers as early as 7AM Mon – Sat and 10AM on Sundays! Get there around 9/9:30 and you’ll be golden (weekends can get very crowded with all of the shoppers).

For the most up to date hours and store information, here is the Colorado Mills website.

Age Recommendations: Mars Outpost is designed for children up to 42″ tall. The maximum age I’d recommend is 6 years old.

Colorado Mills Indoor Playground Features

Mars Outpost will delight any space-loving child as they are transported to outer space. There is a space shuttle that landed in the red dirt, a Mars rover and planets hanging overhead. The children can learn as they play with facts about Mars along the side walls.

Head’s up, there are large openings on both sides of the play area. If you have little wanderers, you’ll definitely want to keep your eyes on them!

Why just look at the pictures when you can get a view of the whole place? Watch this video to get a glimpse of the entire play area…

Surrounding Area Highlights

Colorado Mills mall is full of great shopping and food options to fit your whole family. And, it has many extra features designed for the kids! We passed up a few options like the train, arcade games, etc but she won me over on the Food Court Carousel. This $3 ride wasn’t long but it sure brought her a lot of joy!

Thanks for stopping by, now it’s time to go out and PLAY! 🙂

Don’t forget to Pin for Later!
