A Swing Zipline?! Nottingham Park in Avon is a must see!

Warning, after reading this, your kids will be begging for a stop at Harry A. Nottingham Park in Avon during all future Colorado mountain drives! 🙂 The playground is large, with something for everyone, but there’s really one reason you’ll be going…the swing zipline!

Bathroom: There is a restroom building near the playground. (We found it locked mid-morning in July so I am not 100% sure on the times it is available.)

Shade: With the cool mountain air and surrounding shade trees, we were very comfortable. The playground itself is uncovered, however, there are pavilions available for a rest or picnic lunch.

Age Recommendations: This playground is for everyone, even the adults were playing! For the younger children, there is a small play structure and many mountain themed objects to entertain. They can float along in a canoe, hop with frogs and enjoy their clubhouse!

Unique Features of Nottingham Park

The most unique feature is, you guessed it, the swing zipline! Although there was always a small line, I heard no complaints. Kids helped each other pull the swing up the ramp and everyone had huge smiles when it was their turn.

Other unique features of Nottingham Park in Avon were the rope pyramid (with rope bridge to climb through) and the three story tall covered slides. The play structure has a mountain cabin theme complete with lanterns, forest animals and natural looking elements (rocks/logs) to climb.

Surrounding Area Highlights

There are huge grassy fields near the playground as well as Nottingham Lake, perfect for fishing, stand up paddle boarding and paddle boats. Everyone’s favorite sport is available with tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts, there’s even a softball field! Click here to find additional information on the park and pavilion reservations.
