Discover Settlers Park: Firestone’s Hidden Gem for Your Family!

Settlers Park in Firestone, Colorado is one of my favorites to recommend in the area! With its focus on all ages, it is a great spot to bring a picnic, your favorite sport equipment, and the whole family to play.

Settlers Park Logistics

I hadn’t heard much about Settlers Park before we came upon it between some softball games and we were instantly in love. The playground area is divided into two sections and it feels huge!

Address: Deerfield Dr, Firestone, CO 80504

Bathroom: Yes, there is a portable restroom at Settlers Park.

Shade: There are three large shade panels over the play structures that add some relief depending on the time of day.

Surface: Wood chips.

Age Recommendations: There is equipment meant for ages 2 to 12 at Settlers Park. Your littlest ones will have a blast swinging with you on the “expression swing” and climbing up the structure shown above. Your older kids will love all of the climbing features and monkey bars!

Inclusive Features: There are not many inclusive features here unfortunately. The chair swing is nice but over wood chips so accessibility can be more difficult. There are some sensory panels and the sensory wave climber (shown in Unique Features section).

Swings: You will find two traditional belt swings, two baby swings, 1 chair accessible swing, and the favorite, the parent / tot expression swing at Settlers Park.

Water Features: None.

Unique Features at Settlers Park

With two large play structures, there are many unique elements mixed in with the more traditional slides and ladders. As you can see below, there is a curved rope bridge that can be a bit tricky, an inclusive “sensory wave climber” and a wavy tunnel as well.

The “expression swing” is a family favorite and one I get asked about all of the time. They are so fun to swing along with your child and watch all of the excitement show on their faces.

There are unique shaped monkey bars and giant rope climber for your kids that love to be lil’ monkeys. My eight year old runs for any bars she sees – they’re her favorite!
