March 20th is Alien Abduction Day – the perfect time to celebrate space-themed parks in Colorado! You will be amazed at the playgrounds we’ve come across and your future astronauts will love them. You may even want to grab a helmet and some props for the full effect!

With this space shuttle, it had to be on the list! Boulder’s Scott Carpenter Park is the most nostalgic playground in our collection of space-themed parks in Colorado.
Unfortunately, the space shuttle here was not our favorite. The openings to move from level to level are very small so if your child climbs up and is afraid to climb down, you might not be able to perform a rescue. Also, the individual ladder on each level is the only way up or down so it can be difficult for kids to maneuver as it gets crowded. Ultimately, if your child would love to go in a space shuttle, keep reading and take a trip to see our #1 space-themed park in Colorado!

Erie is the home to our next space-themed park, Star Meadows! Less than two years old, this playground is fun for all ages (and if you go during non-school hours, the neighboring school has great playgrounds too!).
Our favorite place at Star Meadows is the climbable half moon. There are also moon rock spinners, a human sundial and misting rocks. The title of “newest space-themed park in Colorado” goes to Ralston Valley Park in Arvada. With its adorable moon rover for toddlers and enormous slides, all ages will want to go again and again!
