To say that Superior, Colorado has had a tough start to 2022 is a huge understatement. After the Marshall fire devastated so many homes in the area, I could not have been more excited to see that a new playground was coming to town! Our kids need places where they can relax, let go and bring out their imagination – that’s why Purple Park and its space-themed playground is the perfect new addition.

Address: 1310 S Pitkin Ave, Superior, CO 80027
Bathroom: Yes! There is a restroom building that was clean with sink and hand sanitizer (on 4/29/22).
Shade: Since this is a playground update, it is already a well established park with large trees. Once the leaves come in, there will be an abundance of shade near the playground for picnics!
Surface: Themed rubber surfacing!
Age Recommendations: There is equipment for ages 2 to 12. The toddler-sized slides are the lowest level of the play structure, not a separate feature. All ages will love the space-theme and scavenger hunt!
Inclusive Features: Rubber surfacing, sensory panels, and many of the scavenger hunt items can be seen from the ground.
Want to visit another amazing playground in Superior? Check out Wildflower Park and its huge zipline and breathtakingly tall rope pyramid!
Swings: 2 traditional swings, 1 baby swing and a long zipline!
Water Features: None on the playground, but there are beautiful ponds and small creek nearby making it a gorgeous park.
Check out these Mom Must Haves!
A long zipline divides the playground and was an instant hit! We are also huge fans of themed playgrounds so the climbable planet, constellation surfacing and asteroid belt tunnel were fantastic.
And if you’ve been following us for a while, you know that we love a good scavenger hunt! There are small emblems hidden around the park with each of the 10 shapes below. This park feature always leads to a lot of racing around trying to be the first to find each object – it’s hilarious! The search for the apple was the tough one this time 😉
I’ve heard from multiple people that Purple Park is one of their favorite spots in Superior, Colorado. The setting is gorgeous with multiple ponds, large amounts of grass areas, bridges over running water…it’s beautiful!
