Swansea Park, A New Favorite Denver Playground!
I have wanted to visit Swansea Park for a while, before I even saw a picture of this fantastic Denver playground! The reason? It was designed by local elementary students in combination with a leadership program called Imagine the Possibilities. I think that this is why my daughters loved it so much – it was inspired by kids their age!
There are so many other reasons to love this park. The large play structure and zipline are thrilling, the playhouse brings out imagination and role play, and the additional elements will provide a favorite spot for all to enjoy. It is definitely worth a visit!

Looking for another favorite Denver playground? Paco Sanchez Park is a MUST SEE! The inside of the vintage microphone structure is a child’s dream with rope obstacles and a 20 foot high spiral slide!

Swings: Yes, there are 2 traditional swings, one double swing and one disc shaped swing (all shown below). Note that there are no chair/accessible swings or baby swings.
Water Features: None.
Swansea Park Unique Features
As a playground inspired by kids’ designs, the features here do not disappoint! There is a high zipline for the older children (or will require some work on your part) that is accessible from a platform. It is thrilling as they fly across with a view of the trains nearby!
Another fantastic feature of Swansea Park is the main play structure. Completely unique in that area, the geometrical shapes and orange/turquoise colors are eye-catching and immediately will have your kids running toward it. There is one tall spiral slide and a double steep slide with a bridge between them that they have to crawl through. Below and on the sides are rope obstacles, ladders, single bar and rings.
We absolutely loved the other half of the playground with its charming blue playhouse, tall log maze, hill slide and more. My six year old’s favorite feature was this rope net below because of the bouncy spot in the middle.
Surrounding Area Highlights
Swansea Park is not only a great Denver playground option, it is also home to many other outdoor activities! There is a fitness area with a variety of equipment, baseball fields and basketball court. You’ll also find a peaceful walking path and horseshoe pit!
Although the Swansea Recreation Center was not open for us to explore, we did love this mural on its wall!
