After the year it has been, let’s take a moment and celebrate something fun…our favorite parks of 2020! There are many factors to consider, everything from its inclusivity, location, age range, etc. While a few of the playgrounds were built this year, some were just new to us.
Which parks have you been to? Leave us a comment with your favorite!

Kicking off our list is Chaucer Park in Littleton! This medieval themed playground was a favorite because the kids were instantly in character as the princess, pirate and dragon. There are two scavenger hunts and the attention to detail is wonderful. Note that this is a neighborhood park so it is a quiet location and no restroom available.

Of course the brand new swing zipline had to make the list! Longmont replaced an old playground at Carr Park with this fun colored equipment and it was a hit. The swing zipline was the favorite element, but you’ll also find tall slides, climbing wall, toddler play area and a 10-person merry go round!

I have recommended Silver Creek Park more times than I can remember – it’s a perfect spot to take all ages! This neighborhood park in Lafayette has a rope pyramid, long zipline and tall slide for the older kids. It also has a toddler farm-themed play area and chicken/egg scavenger hunt for the younger ages. We lovingly call it “the chicken park!”

The playground at the Painted Prairie neighborhood in Aurora will just get better and better in 2021. Currently, there is a lot of unfinished landscaping around (which led to some muddy shoes), but otherwise, it was such a fun place to visit! What kid wouldn’t love these ‘Swiss Family Robinson’ tree houses at High Prairie Park?! Located near the Gaylord Rockies hotel, this is the perfect stop the next time you’re by the airport.

The Town of Fort Collins has created a completely unique experience with Sugar Beet Park. Most eye catching is the wooden sugar beet to play in and around, along with its log obstacles as the stalk. Your children will also love the chair zipline, four person seesaw and cone spinner! Come expecting an outdoor museum experience the whole family will enjoy about the sugar beet past of Fort Collins.

We shared Veterans Park with the community, appropriately so, on Independence Day. With its red, white and blue colors, stars and stripes surface, and flags flying, it is the perfect playground to be next to the Brighton Veterans Memorial! Plan to spend some extra time there walking the nature path and keep your eyes out for some local wildlife.
*Most of the playground is built for older ages (5+) so if you’re looking for another great park for young ones nearby, check out Colorado Park.

Erie built not one but two new playgrounds this year! Making our top 13 list of 2020 though is Crescent Park (see video below to see both parks featured). One side of the park has a traditional playground with slides, swings and spinners, but the other side is more unique. With its 7 piece challenge course, Crescent Park provides an opportunity for all ages, even teens, to have a place to play. My daughters love watching American Ninja Warrior so they instantly fell in love with this park!

Great list! Thank you. You really need to see Paco Sanchez park in north west Denver. At least on par with, if not better than most parks on the list! My kiddos love it!
