A Summer Built on FUNdamentals in Colorado Springs!

It’s FUNdamental Philosophy

It’s FUNdamental believes every child deserves an affordable, encouraging place to explore sports, build confidence, and learn proper fundamentals without the pressure of competition. The program was created to address a real gap for families: young kids often don’t get enough physical education in school, and many youth sports options are costly, team‑driven, and offer little true instruction.

Founder Toni Smith, a certified physical education instructor, designed It’s FUNdamental as a multi‑sport, skills‑based program where kids can try new activities, learn at their own pace, and grow through positive coaching.

Get Ready for Summer Camp!

It’s FUNdamental has weekly camps with five different sports taught each week, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 to 11:30AM. Camps take place in Colorado Springs, primarily at Portal Park or, for track and field, St. Mary’s Grace Center Field. Some of the sports included are tennis, soccer, baseball, golf, ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, and basketball.

Camp for Little Ones too!

“Littles Summer Camp” is geared toward ages 3 to 5, still 4 days a week, but only 1.5 hours long. The program includes the same sports and concepts just in a more appropriate length for that age. Kids will learn the fundamentals of each sport, but more importantly they are beginning to connect the dots between their muscle movement, balance and dominant and non-dominant development.

Coaching Philosophy

It’s FUNdamental strives to change the ͚’one size fits all͛’ approach and focus on personalized learning to provide the greatest chance of success for every child. The camp emphasizes healthy development, teamwork, and a welcoming environment that supports all ages and skill levels.

Weekly Classes for Preschool and Homeschool too!

Not only does It’s FUNdamental offer summer camps, they also offer a preschool sports class and homeschool PE. Preschool classes are for ages 3 to 5 with classes available two days per week. 

Homeschool children can participate in PE classes with It’s FUNdamental. These classes are offered once per week and offer a great way to meet other kids their age in a fun environment.

Both types of classes include sports such as football, soccer, basketball, tennis, lacrosse, baseball, tumbling, volleyball and a variety of racquet sports (badminton, pickleball). They also have the added bonus of being available with a punch pass versus weekly commitment.

It’s Affordable!

When most of us think of putting our kids into sports, we think huge commitment and that it can become very expensive to try multiple kinds. Lucky for us, It’s FUNdamental was created by a mom of four that understands! That is why they offer a low weekly cost, sibling discounts, and offer shorter programs for the younger ages. You don’t have to jump into a full season of a sport that they won’t like next week, or commit to just one sport at a young age. This gives them a great start into finding out what they like best!

Every registration includes a t-shirt and water bottle, and all sport equipment is available for use. It’s FUNdamental keeps camp easy for parents and the kids!
