I am so excited to share this list of new Colorado playgrounds built in past year! There are themed playgrounds, inclusive playgrounds, natural playgrounds and immense fun to be had by the whole family. Colorado Parks and Recreation, individual cities and towns, and Great Outdoors Colorado continue to amaze us with the commitment to providing places for families to play together.
**I know there are parks we’ve missed so if there is a new playground near you, please help us by adding it in the comments below.

The beloved playground in City Park was recently renovated with the castle theme continued in the new design. The tall castle tower and giant blue dragon are eye-catching as you arrive and your children will love all of the extra amenities. There is a swing large enough to hold a full wheelchair and a wavy sidewalk for scooter fun!

If you search for “Volley Park”, you might not find anything yet so use the address above to find this fantastic playground in the Brighton Crossings neighborhood. Among the play equipment, you will find a fitness zone, sand play area and, our favorite, a scavenger hunt!

Through a volunteer community build, Country Fields Park was updated with new equipment, more shade cover and adorable butterfly steps. There are structures for ages two to five and another for five to twelve with extras such as swings, spinners and monkey bars.
Address: Baseline Rd & 9th St, Boulder, CO 80302
The new playground at Chautauqua feels like the perfect representation of Boulder. Natural colors, a climbable “6th Flatiron” and a large playhouse built by a local girl scout troop provide a wonderful place to play. A favorite feature of this shade-covered playground was the “climbing tree” saved from the previous playground.

A beautiful addition to Stanley Marketplace, LuBird’s Light Playground is a fully inclusive place for kids of all ages and abilities. With its bright colors and inviting entrance, everyone will instantly feel playful and happy as they arrive. There is a wheelchair accessible treehouse, swing, and even a trampoline!

This brand new playground in Thornton will be an instant favorite because…it has a zipline! Sky Park also has a large rope climbing structure, spinning sphere and merry go round. Take along a soccer ball to play in the new enclosed soccer field!
Don’t forget to take along some of our park favorites!

So many new features can be found at Fairmount Park! There is a wheelchair accessible playhouse, slide wide enough for you and your friends, and a low-entry disc swing. My daughters played quite the game of tag and could’ve stayed there all day long!

The update of Robinson Park opened on Halloween – can you tell? 🙂 My police officer and little witch loved the clubhouse structure and climbing features. There are also a lot of musical elements and a large grass field for soccer, frisbee and picnics!
Address: 200 Dayton St, Aurora, CO 80010
Check out this exciting slide structure at McMullen Park! My girls loved the obstacle course features and actually spent the majority of the time on the merry go round. It was nice to visit a park with full rubber surfacing – a great spot for the younger ages!
