Paco Sanchez Park, the Biggest Playground in Denver, Has Gotten Even Bigger!
If you’ve been following us at Slides and Sunshine for a while, you know that we reviewed Paco Sanchez Park in 2019. What you might not know though is that the playground grew with the implementation of Phase 2 and is better than ever!

Paco Sanchez Park Logistics
Address: 1290 Knox Ct, Denver, CO 80204
Bathroom: At the time we were there (March 2021), there was a bathroom building on the south end of the park, however, it was having maintenance done. My assumption is that it will be open for the summer season, and regardless, there were some portables available if needed.
Shade: The playground is surrounded by huge trees so finding a spot to have your snacks should be easy. The kids will be able to get a break from the sun by going in the play structure or under the long bridge.
Age Recommendations: All, even you! A note about taking younger ages…be aware that this park is huge! It can be very easy to lose sight of your little ones inside the play structure or on busy days. All ages will find something to love, just be prepared and plan to go early in the morning (or on a slightly snowy day like we did 😉 ) to miss the crowds.
Swings: There are 2 traditional swings and 2 baby swings near the main playground area. More exciting though, is the swing ZIPLINE! My girls will go on this over and over again, forwards and backwards. Getting the swing up that ramp takes a bit of strength so you may be called on to help.
Water Features: None at this point.
Don’t forget to use code SLIDES for 20% off any non-sale items at Aksels.com! The girls LOVE their new hats!
Unique Features of Paco Sanchez Park
Paco Sanchez Park was created in honor of Radio Broadcaster and Colorado House Representative, Paco Sanchez. To pay tribute, many of the park’s elements were created with radio and music in mind. The most extraordinary would definitely be the giant 1950’s inspired microphone dominating the middle of the playground. It is filled with a spiral slide, net climbers and is not for the faint of heart!
Another unique feature is the gramophone inspired concrete slide!
Looking for another fantastic playground in Denver? Check out Swansea Park – it has a zipline too!
Additional Highlights
There are many extra features to highlight the radio broadcast theme. The stacked record sculpture is eye-catching, but what makes it even more special is the Denver skyline etched in and facts about Paco Sanchez (in English and Spanish) on the bottom level. There are dance-named steps to play on and whimsical shapes to climb on and around.
In addition to the playground features, there is also a full sized basketball court, skate park and a lot of open space for picnics and frisbee.
