You Haven’t Really Played Tag Until You’ve Played Tag at this Park!

If you have adventurous kids that love making an obstacle course out of anything, the next stop for you is Big Dry Creek Park in Westminster! With its high-bridged play structure, they will be sure to have a great time with that touch of thrill.

Shade: This is a great park to visit during the spring or fall, or on a cloud-covered day. I don’t recommend visiting when it is sunny, 60+ degrees though because the dark brown slides get extremely hot, quickly. The only real shade around the playgrounds are two pavilions with a number of picnic tables.

Bathroom: Just a short walk from playground, close to the baseball field, are a few portable restrooms.

Age Recommendations: All ages will enjoy this playground, especially those between the ages of 4 to 10. There is a separate play structure for toddlers, including monkey bars and rings that are actually their height! For the younger visitors, there are also two baby swings, a sand area and sensory/noise-making features.

Finally a set of monkey bars her size!

Unique Features: The large play structure has many cool features making it a favorite for all. Bridges form a square with slides coming down from three of the corners, and with so many ways to get up or down, the games of Playground Tag are intense!

Additional features that make this park unique are a large net spinner, standing seesaw and tire swing!

The one feature that I can live without is this large spinning disc. It is a lot of fun for one kid to enjoy the uneven spinning, but a disaster with many kids, especially when older kids take control! In each of the times we have visited this park, at least one child was in tears from being thrown off. I try not to be too helicopter-y at the playgrounds, but my advice is to steer clear, wear a helmet or enjoy it with just a couple of other spinners 😉

Surrounding Area Highlights: The main attraction by the playground is the Big Dry Creek Dog Park making this a great stop for your entire family, fur babies and all! There are soccer and baseball fields as well.

Not your average seesaw – this one has a bounce!
